The City of Tomball shall accept sealed bids to purchase a 1.4112-Acre Tract of Land, located at the northwest corner of Brown Road and Baker Street, from the City of Tomball. A minimum total bid of $12,500.00 is required. Additionally, the property is offered for sale on an “as is” basis; a Quitclaim Deed will be provided to the purchaser.
Sealed bids shall be addressed to the City Secretary, City of Tomball, 401 Market Street, Tomball, Texas, 77375, and shall be labeled “Project Number 2018-15, DO NOT OPEN” and shall be marked with the Bidder’s name and address. Any bid received after the time specified will be returned unopened. Any bid that does not conform in all material respects to the Notice to Bidders will be considered non-responsive. Bids will be accepted until 9:00 A.M., Thursday, July 19, 2018, at which time all bids shall be opened and read aloud.
Each bidder is required to submit a cashier's or certified check issued by a bank satisfactory to the City of Tomball in an amount of not less than 10% of the total amount of the bid submitted as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a sales contract within 15 days after notice of award of the contract.
It shall be each bidder's sole responsibility to inspect the property and obtain information regarding the condition and all factors relative to the sale. Information may be obtained from Doris Speer, City Secretary, City of Tomball, 401 Market Street, Tomball, Texas 77375.
During the period between Bid solicitation, submission date, and the contract award, respondents, including their agents and/or representatives/owners, shall not directly or indirectly promote their Proposal/Bid to any member of the Tomball City Council or City staff except in the course of City-sponsored inquires, briefings, interviews, and/or presentations requests. Violation of this provision may result in the rejection of the respondent’s Proposal submittal.
Upon consideration of the bids, the City of Tomball reserves the right to accept or to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality or technicality, to make any investigation deemed necessary concerning the bidder's ability to complete the sale, and accept what, in the City's judgment, is the most advantageous bid.
