The City of Tomball shall accept sealed bids to purchase the following land owned by the City and located at 0 0 Houston Street in the City:
Lot Twenty (20), Block Seven (7), out of the Tomball Townsite, Harris County, Texas, recorded in Volume 4, Page 25, Map Records of Harris County, Texas.
A minimum total purchase bid of $3,750 is required.
Sealed bids shall be addressed to the City Secretary, City of Tomball, 401 Market Street, Tomball, Texas, 77375, and shall be labeled “Project Number 2017-14R, DO NOT OPEN” and shall be marked with the Bidder’s name and address. Any bid received after the time specified will be returned unopened. Any bid that does not conform in all material respects to the Notice to Bidders will be considered non-responsive. Bids will be accepted until 9:00 A.M., Thursday, May 25, 2017, at which time all bids shall be opened and read aloud.
Each bidder is required to submit a cashier's or certified check issued by a bank satisfactory to the City of Tomball in an amount of not less than (1%) of the total amount of the bid submitted for purchase, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a sales contract within 15 days after notice of award of the contract to him. A pro forma copy of the sales contract may be obtained from Doris Speer, City Secretary, City of Tomball, 401 Market Street, Tomball, Texas 77375. It shall be each bidder's sole responsibility to inspect the property and obtain information regarding the condition and all factors relative to the sale. All such information may be obtained from the City Secretary’s office, at the address provided above.
During the period between Bid solicitation, submission date, and contract award, respondents, including their agents and/or representatives/owners, shall not directly or indirectly promote their Proposal/Bid to any member of the Tomball City Council or City staff except in the course of City-sponsored inquires, briefings, interviews, and/or presentations requests. Violation of this provision may result in the rejection of the respondent’s Proposal/Bid submittal.
Upon consideration of the bids, the City of Tomball reserves the right to accept or to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality or technicality, to make any investigation deemed necessary concerning the bidder's ability to complete the sale, and accept what, in the City's judgment, is the most advantageous bid.
